I-I don't know what happened..

I watched him leave, looking at my brother. "You look after him. Or I'll come for you," I warned. He gave a starry laugh and padded away, leaving me to my own devices. I stood and joined FrostKit. I curled up beside the small kit, watching over her. I sighed and set my head down.

    I failed him. I didn't know what to do so I failed him.

 I watched the kit and she shifted, wriggling up next to me. This kit had a mother, a father. Four siblings. She belonged in this Clan. It wasn't her fault she got sick so much. It wasn't her fault that her father's body held two souls. Or that her only brother started going off on his own.

    "Don't worry. I'll look after you, even when you don't need me to. So don't die."
